New Experience

I walked inside a 2.5 million dollar for the first time in my life. And I was very disappointed. As I looked around this 9,000 sq. ft. home I thought--my home is much nicer than this even if it is 1/6 the size. This home had 3 living areas, one with a fireplace large enough to burn 4 full trees at once. You hear about people having a mirror over their bed but this is the first time I had ever seen one. Not only that but the entire room was mirrored. The furniture was custom. The swimming pool was huge. It overlooked the lake. And when I got home I was glad. I am more than happy with my home. It is the perfect size for me. It has all the features I want in a home. Oh and this 2.5 million dollar home--was sitting on 3/4 of an acre. I have a full acre. So there...

Ethics

Today I have ethics on my mind for some reason. Probably because a colleague questioned mine. Nothing major but I took it seriously. In Business you are only as good as your name. And I have tried to make my name synonymous with Service and Caring and Trust. It takes a long time to get that kind of reputation. So I was shocked. But alas, all is back to normal. Now if I could just get the site design pinned down. I am not sure of the look I am going for. Any ideas?

Bots, Bots everywhere

It is amazing to see the bots show up when you start a new website. I think they secretly communicate amongst themselves. "Hey, check this site out. The code is crap!" I checked my reports. Yahoo! Slurp visited the site last night. An hour later three more bots came snooping. Do search bots travel in gangs? Bizarre. But the bots bring traffic. Traffic is up 48%. A coincidence? Not a chance. The bots only accounted for .37% of the traffic. So we'll see. And fill out the request form!

MCQ up and running... but I don't think it's "pretty" enough.

So I am going to be working on version 2.0 and will hopefully be done with it in a couple of months. I have had to take a crash course in PHP so maybe I will be able to figure it out and start implementing. I know how to write the code for it... I just don't understand the concept. In a couple of months, we are going to have exciting times at MCQ. As we grow and expand, we are going to have to grow and expand our workforce, and if there is one thing I hate most about business it is trying to find that right fit in an employee. I have been lucky in the past, in that the team we have is fantastic. I couldn't ask for anything better.

Something I heard about and just had to comment. Apparently a Google Corporate Blogger put some of her personal opinions in the blog. In business we know that if we make a personal statement it becomes a corporate statement. The blog wasn't even that inflamatory. It seems that once the press gets hold of a story they will use the whole arsenal of the media to destroy anything and anyone in it's path.
